TASBO Commitment to Excellence Award

All
nomination information must be received in TASBO headquarters by
November 1st at 5:00 p.m.
|
This award is given on an annual basis to recognize an outstanding
TASBO member based on criteria set out below. The award is
presented at the Annual Conference.
The following information summarizes the award nomination
procedures. These procedures have been developed to ensure that all
members will be evaluated according to their contributions to the
Association and to their profession, regardless of the size of their
districts or their positions within the districts.
Eligibility
Nominee is a current active or life TASBO member
Nominee has been an active TASBO member for at least 10 of the last
15 years
Nominee holds a current TASBO
certification and has met all continuing education requirements
Nominee has not served on the TASBO
Board of Directors for one year prior to the nomination date
Nominee has not been nominated for this award for the two preceding
years
Nominee has not won the award previously
Nominee is not running for a position on the TASBO Board
Nominations
A nomination for the
TASBO Commitment to Excellence Award may be made by each TASBO
research Committee, Standing Committee and TASBO Affiliate.
Nomination considerations should be given to those individuals who
have served in a leadership capacity in the organization or
profession such as:

serving as a chair of a committee or affiliate organization;
● participating in the mentor program as a mentor;
● serving on the standing certification or
governmental relations committee; or
● regularly providing certification instruction to
members and/or presenting at academies,
workshops, or conferences
A TASBO Commitment to Excellence Award Nomination Questionnaire must
be completed by the nominee and returned to TASBO headquarters.
· The
nominee’s resume’ must accompany the Questionnaire.
· A
letter of recommendation from the nominee’s Superintendent or Chief
Executive Officer supporting their candidacy must accompany the
Nomination Questionnaire. If the nominee is retired the
recommendation may be provided by a former member of the TASBO Board
of Directors.
· All
Nomination Questionnaires and letters must be received in TASBO
headquarters by November 1 at 5:00 p.m. of the year preceding the
Annual Conference when the award will be presented.
Nominations cannot be processed after this date. All
correspondence regarding the nomination should be sent via
registered mail to:

by email to the Executive Director of TASBO. If
information is submitted by email, the sender must contact TASBO
staff to make certain that the information is received by the
deadline stated above.
Selection Process
Selection of the winner of the
TASBO Commitment to Excellence Award is by the TASBO Board of
Directors.
Each TASBO Board Member will
individually, numerically rank nominees without discussion or
conference with any other board members.
The
winner will be determined based on the number of points received.
In the event of a tie, the Board of Directors will select a winner
prior to the Annual Conference.
Important
Dates to Remember
November 1 is the deadline for
nominees to submit their questionnaires and letters to TASBO
headquarters.
Presentation of the Commitment to Excellence Award takes place at
the Annual Conference. All nominees will be announced during a
General Session.
Commitment to Excellence Award
Presentation
All nominees for the TASBO
Commitment to Excellence Award will receive a plaque. The
award winner will receive a crystal award. A $150 donation to
the TASBO Scholarship Fund in the name of the winner will be paid
for by the association and the winner’s name will be placed on the
scholarship donation plaque at TASBO headquarters. Press
releases of the winner will be sent to appropriate media outlets.
