Membership
The Association has five membership classifications. Effective March 1, 2002, TASBO’s membership dues are for a 12-month
period; benefits begin when full payment is received. TASBO memberships can be
either individual (stays with the person if s/he changes employers) or
institutional (stays with the employer that designated the individual).
Active Member
- active
membership shall be open to business officials and school administrators who
manage
business or operations activities from public schools, non-public schools, agencies
and non-profit governmental/organizations that work with public schools, such as TEA, TRS,
TASB, ESCs etc. This may also include superintendents of
schools, and college and university instructors teaching or working in the school business
management field. Active members shall be voting members.
Active membership dues are based on salary:

Associate M
ember
- associate members shall be
non-voting members who do not meet the other membership category requirements.
This membership catagory includes vendors who provide goods and services
to school districts. Associate members may not serve on the Board of
Directors. An individual employed by a management services company or any for-profit
entity must join as an associate member.
Associate dues are
$120 per year
Retired Member -
retired members category will be available to those TASBO members who have retired from school
business management, but do not have the required years of service and/or membership to be
considered for Honorary Life memberships. Retired members shall be
voting members.
Retired Member dues are $40 per year
Student Member
- student members shall be non-voting
members who are currently enrolled in a
college or university and are currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in
the field of business and/or education.
Student Member dues are $80
Life Member
- life
members shall be approved by the Board of Directors and as qualified by the Constitution
of the Association. Life members have the same privileges as Active Members,
including the right to vote.

Rights of Membership
The right to vote and hold office shall be limited
to active members whose dues are paid for the current year and life
members. The right to have a voice in discussion at meetings of this
association shall be limited to members.
