Revised instructions and forms are pending any day from the Teacher Retirement System of Texas for the calculation of the district's retirement contributions for above statutory minimum salaries. 

House Bill 3646 amended Section 825.405(a) and (b), Government Code, to change the reference for this calculation for certain personnel from the 1995 verision to the CURRENT minimum salary schedule established under Section 21.402, Education Code. 

 The change from the 1995 MSS to the Current affects the following classes of staff:

• Superintendent
• Instructional administrative officer
• Principal (part-time, full-time, or assistant)
• School social worker
• Psychologist
• Educational diagnostician
• Physical therapist
• Occupational therapist
• Physician, M.D.
• Psychological associate
• Special education related service personnel

School districts will overpay their retirement contributions if they continue to use the 1995 minimum salary schedule.
