Explanation of Monitoring Criteria

The Texas Education Agency has advised districts to expect that all ARRA funds, including SFSF, will be monitored.  The TEA October 6, 2009 letter gives more details and explains some of the documentation that they will expect to see.

Grantees receiving stimulus funding can expect TEA’s Reporting and Fiscal Accountability Unit to monitor the following:

• LEAs designated as high-risk grantees
• Cash management practices
• Timely expenditure of grant funds
• Randomly selected grant expenditures
