Student Teacher Classroom Link to be Added to PEIMS Data Standards PDF Print E-mail

The Texas Education Agency has announced plans to collect classroom level data for teachers and students beginning with school year 2010-2011.  The PEIMS data collection will be limited for the first year and will be expanded for school year 2011-2012.  The collection of this data will allow the Texas Education Agency to associate teachers with individual students by classroom.  The collection of this data supports various projects authorized by the Texas Legislature and the United States Department of Education, including

  • Student Assessment Data Portal (81st Texas Legislature, House Bill 3)
  • Educator Preparation Program Accountability System (81st Texas Legislature, Senate Bill 174)
  • USDE 2009 Statewide Longitudinal Data System Grant
  • USDE State Fiscal Stabilization Fund Phase II Grant
  • USDE Race to the Top Grant
  • USDE 2009 Statewide Longitudinal Data System ARRA Grant
