Yesterday, Commission of Education Robert Scott, the second general session featured speaker at the 2010 Texas Association of School Administrators Midwinter Conference, announced that the Texas Education Agency would begin a sunset process that will involve a comprehensive review of all rules that were adopted by the Agency over the last several years.  The Commissioner stated an interest in returning to the Agency's  policy objectives in the early 1990's that placed a primary emphasis on results and less on process.  The Commissioner also stated that he has contacted education associations for assistance with this effort, including TASBO.  He also stated that the review will result in recommendations for statutory changes during the 2011 Legislative session.
