Today, Gov. Rick Perry, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and House Speaker Joe Straus issued directives to each state agency to identify 10% savings in the development of legislative appropriations requests for the 2012-2013 biennial budget. State agencies will provide supplemental schedules explaining how they would reduce their base line requests by 10% in general revenue-related funding. The budget reductions are to be achieved in five percent increments for each year of the biennial budget.  State agencies are to submit their requests between August 2 and 30.
