The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has published guidelines for holding a 2010 tax ratification election (TRE).  This is a topic of discussion in many if not a majority of school districts because their financial management projections indicate a need to adopt a maintenance and operations (M&O) tax rate above $1.04 for the upcoming fiscal year (ending August 31, 2011).  The guidelines provide an overview of the TRE process and timelines that apply to holding the election on various dates in 2010, including the uniform election date, November 2, 2010.
