To inform stakeholders about cost drivers involving financial mandates in the Texas public school sytsem, TASBO has prepared the report Financial Mandates on School Districts. In recent years, there has been a growing awareness of the strains that expanding mandates have placed upon available current budgetary resources.  After reading this report, we hope that all readers will have a better understanding of why nearly all school district business officials that transitioned from other governmental sectors or from private enterprise are in agreement that there is nothing more complicated than finanical management in the Texas public school system.
