The Legislative Budget Board's Dynamic Economic Impact Statement for Committee Substitute House Bill 1, dated March 30, 2011, projects there will be 271,746 and 335,244 fewer jobs in 2012 and 2013 respectively (in the government and private sectors combined) as a result of the funding levels proposed for the 2012-13 biennium in CSHB 1 (the analysis is based upon a decrease of about $23 billion from 2010-11 appropriations).  The LBB's analysis puts into context the many newspaper headlines during the past several weeks on reductions-in-force announced by school districts.  Ongoing efforts by the Senate to increase funding levels will serve to diminish the LBB's projections.   To access the LBB's report click on the link below.
