The special session begins Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at 8:00 AM.   Senate Bill 1811 was derailed by a filibuster late Sunday night along with key provisions for the public school finance plan for the 2012-2013 biennium.  Reductions in funding for nearly all charter schools and school districts for school years 2011-12 and 2012-13 are factored into the amounts allocated to public education in the General Appropriations Bill, House Bill 1, for the next biennium.  The special session was announced by Governor Perry late Monday night.  More details to follow!
