Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Susan Combs will be awarding Texas Cool Schools Grants to help school districts replace old, inefficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The grant benefits school districts' efforts to lower their utility costs by purchasing new and more energy-efficient HVAC systems.  Grants will be awarded in amounts ranging from $100,000 to $2 million.  Key dates are shown below.

Deadline for Non-Mandatory Letters of Intent to Apply (2 p.m. CST) 08/17/2011
Deadline for Submission of Questions (2 p.m. CST) 08/17/2011
Official Responses to Questions Posted 08/22/2011, or as soon thereafter as practical
Deadline for Submission of Applications (2 p.m. CST) 09/01/2011 – late applications will not be considered
Grant Agreement Execution / Commencement of Project As soon as practical
