TEA Urges Prompt Action to Avoid Lapsing Funds from ARRA Stimulus and Stabilization |

9/7/11
School districts and open-enrollment charter schools are urged to take prompt action to ensure all ARRA grant funds are obligated by September 30, 2011. All remaining grant balances must be drawn down no later than the due date for the revised final expenditure report for the ARRA grant (between October 30 and November 30, depending on the grant program). ARRA grant funds will be forfeited by your district if either deadline is not met.
If it appears that your district or charter school is at risk of not obligating ARRA Title XIV State Fiscal Stabilization Fund (SFSF) funds by the September 30 deadline, then consider an application amendment that, if approved, will allow the district to reclassify eligible expenditures charged to the General Fund in fiscal year 2011 or that will be expended in fiscal year 2012 prior to September 30, 2011. If you need to amend your application for ARRA SFSF because it is not practical to obligate funds in a timely manner due to how the grant application and budget were structured, TEA is still accepting application amendments for a very limited time. To request an amendment, please have your business manager (or representative with similar authority) email the following information to
