School districts must submit a certified letter by December 31, 2012, to the Comptroller of Public Accounts relating to the district's legal authority to continue to exercise the power of eminent domain, in accordance with Senate Bill 18, 82nd Legislative Session. The letter must be sent by certified, return receipt mail not later than December 31, 2012.  School districts' authority to exercise the power of eminent domain expires on September 1, 2013, if the letter is not submitted by the December 31, 2012 deadline.
