School officials are reminded that comments may be filed with the Texas Education Agency through January 9, 2012, to the emergency Commissioner of Education rule containing minimum standards for declaration of a financial exigency by the board of trustees of a school district. Some school officials have reported that comments will be filed, including the need to provide sufficient flexibility to school districts and to include additional types of leading indicators in the list of eligible conditions for declaration of financial exigency.
