The Universal Service Administrative Comparny (USAC) opened the E-rate Funding Year 2012 Form 471 filing window this week. This funding window will close at 11:59 pm Eastern on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. The last day applicants may post a Form 470 for FY2012 and meet the required 28 day competitive bidding period is Tuesday, February 21, 2012.

USAC encourages applicants to file their Forms 471 online as early as possible.  This is requested in order to allow plenty of time to correct errors or re-file the Form 471, if necessary. Online filing is encouraged, and applicants are reminded that the Form 471 Item 21 Attachment must be filed before the filing window deadline on March 20. When filing online, applicants should certify their FCC Forms 470 and 471 as soon as possible after submitting them.  The USAC does not begin reviewing an application until it is certified and the Item 21 attachments are filed.
