TEA has posted the 2009-2010 Student Attendance Accounting Handbook.  In general, the requirements have not changed greatly from last year, but there are some significant changes.  There is a table of these changes beginning on page 22 of the handbook.  Some of the changes are necessary to implement new laws.

It is especially important that every one directly concerned with the process review this manual well before the school year begins.  Attendance accounting goes beyond the daily presence and absence and includes very detailed and specific requirements in many special program areas.  Errors can be very expensive for a school district and it is always easier to do it right the first time than to find errors and correct them later on.
