How It Works
The TASBO Mentoring Program is tailored to the needs of its participants. Matching is done based on protégé needs and mentor experience, taking into consideration district similarities and area of specialization (job duties).
The mentors and protégés will communicate through telephone mentoring. 30 minute calls are recommended on a weekly basis. In addition to these regular sessions, the mentor will spend one full day with the protégé at his/her district. Additional onsite visits may be arranged if mutually agreed upon.
Training and Support
TASBO provides a mandatory, competency-based training program for mentors and protégés (one day for the mentors and one half-day for the protégés). All participants are required to attend training. In addition, TASBO will provide periodic support calls, to both mentors and protégés, to ensure that the program is meeting their needs.
Program Fees
The cost of participating as a protégé is $495. This covers the costs of materials, assessment instruments, and training, and includes a one-year membership in TASBO. Mentors will receive a nominal stipend as well as travel reimbursement for the training and the visit to the protégé’s district.
If you are interested in serving as either a mentor or protégé complete the attached application form. If you know of someone you think would benefit from the program, call us and we will invite them to participate.
