Karen recently retired from Spring Branch ISD where she served as Associate Superintendent for Finance since January 2006. She began her career in school business in 1984 in Katy ISD then moved on to Dallas ISD where she was Deputy Superintendent of Business Services and Associate Superintendent for Financial Services. She has a BBA in Accounting from Abilene Christian University and is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Texas School Business Official. Additionally, she served TASBO both as a member of the Board and as an Executive Officer, receiving TASBO’s Commitment to Excellence Award in 2008. Karen brings a wealth of hands on experience as a CFO and can provide our members with practical, real-world advice.
