In a recent video series, TASBO shadowed six school finance and operations professionals at their jobs in various districts throughout Texas. The purpose of the series was to use their personal stories to identify different pathways into the profession. The videos premiered at the 2023 TASBO Engage Conference in February.

Each video was roughly three minutes in length and was produced by Alpheus Media, an award-winning Austin-based production company who specializes in documentary filmmaking. Last last year, they shadowed each employee during their daily routines and interviewed each subject.

“These members exemplify dedicated professionals in public schools who manage business and field operations,” said Tracy Ginsburg. “Their stories show how hard work and a passion for public education can provide a rewarding career path.”

Career development was a central theme to the 2023 TASBO Engage Conference in San Antonio, which featured career development breakout session tracks and career counseling sessions for attendees. A new webpage - Career Pathways - was developed specifically to focus on career development resources.
