Carla Martin, RTSBA, Assistant Superintendent of Financial Services at Arlington ISD, was one of 10 recipients of the 2023 RISE Award. The RISE Award recognizes a person whose early accomplishments, within their career and TASBO, distinguish them as future leaders in the profession. It is sponsored by the Texas Association of School Boards.

Carla began her career in the private sector. She is a graduate of the TASBO Emerging Leaders Program and a past officer of the Permian Basin Affiliate.

We are now accepting nominations for the 2024 RISE Award class.

Nomination Criteria

  • A current Active TASBO member for no more than 10 years
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities and achievements in his/her role and the potential to lead the future of school business
  • Displays a desire to advance his/her career with continued engagement in TASBO
  • Has not won the award previously
