Special Honors for Special Leaders

TSAE Award 2

The Texas Society of Association Executives honor TASBO's Tracy Ginsburg and Becky Bunte during their 2020 Virtual Awards Celebration.

The Texas Society of Association Executives (TSAE) honored two TASBO staff members at their Virtual Awards Celebration Social. They awarded Deputy Executive Director Becky Bunte with the 2020 Professional Excellence Award and then awarded Executive Director Tracy Ginsburg with the 2020 Distinguished Executive Award. It’s the first time two members were awarded from the same association in the same year.

“I couldn’t be more proud to serve with Becky and Tracy,” said Michele Trongaard, TASBO Board President. “We’re excited for that recognition in our own organization.”

The Distinguished Executive Award is extended to the Chief Staff Executive from an association in Texas. In addition to evaluating the success of Tracy’s leadership at TASBO, TSAE was impressed with her enthusiastic commitment to learn and be part of the TSAE community. As soon as she was eligible, Tracy took a CAE study course, and passed the CAE exam to make her a Certified Association Executive.

“While I am honored to be recognized with this award, it is really a team award – Team TASBO,” Tracy said during her acceptance speech. “We ask a lot at TASBO of our staff and they never cease to amaze me with their willingness to step forward and ensure that our members have what they need.”

Becky was honored by TSAE with their Professional Excellence Award, which recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to their association and demonstrate abilities for continued high levels of achievement in the field of association management. Becky previously served on the TSAE board and brought her expertise in accounting and finance to guide the association. At TASBO, she prepared the association for virtual learning and rose to the challenges in 2020.

“I have been blessed to live my life fulfilling my passion – helping students in public education,” said Becky. “I made changes and decisions based on a simple premise – would it support teachers so that they could impact students? At TASBO, decisions are made to ensure we support administrators so they can impact teachers to change students’ lives. So I went from impacting 8,000 students to over 5 million!”
