We talked with Steve Fisher, Director of Cooperative Purchasing Services for BuyBoard, about purchasing trends, his interactions with TASBO members, and their sponsorship with TASBO.
What are some hot topics heading into this year?
Supply chain issues are still going to be prevalent as we move back to some sort of normal, so advice would be to plan and purchase early. In addition, schools from all around the state are going to be playing catch up on ordering supplies and materials so you don’t want to be at the end of the line.
What are some key initiatives for TASB Purchasing Services?
We are always listening to what the members are looking for and many times this leads to the generation of a new contract, so the process of exploring new commodities and contracts is always high on the list.
What do you appreciate about TASBO members?
Always so inviting, friendly, and helpful. Just a great group of people to work with.
What are some additional benefits of your relationship with TASBO and the Strategic Partner Program?
TASBO is a great advocate for public education and we appreciate the opportunity to work side by side with them as we all strive to support the operational backbone of school districts.
