TASBO Announces Inaugural School Business & Operations Day | February 26, 2025

SBO Day is Near

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, February 26 as SBO Day. This new celebration will take place at the TASBO Engage Conference and throughout the state to honor public school employees who work in the profession of school business and operations.

We are proud to announce that February 26, 2025, will mark the inaugural School Business & Operations (SBO) Day, dedicated to officially recognizing, celebrating, and appreciating the vital work of school business and operations professionals across Texas.

School business and operations professionals are essential to ensuring that Texas public schools operate successfully. Though often unnoticed, the work they do — from maintaining facilities to overseeing safety measures and managing financial resources — forms the backbone of successful school districts.

“It is because of school business and operations professionals that our Texas public schools run efficiently and effectively. And yet, much of their work takes place behind the scenes and often without recognition. For this reason, TASBO is proud to honor the important contributions of these dedicated individuals,” said Tracy Ginsburg, Ed.D., CAE, TASBO Executive Director.

The inaugural SBO Day will officially launch at the TASBO Engage Conference in Austin, Texas. The Engage Conference is one of TASBO’s premier events, bringing together school business professionals from across the state for education, networking, and connection. During the conference, participants will have the opportunity to join in the first-ever SBO Day celebrations, recognizing the significant contributions these professionals make to their districts and communities.

“We’re excited to launch ‘SBO Day’ during our Engage Conference in Austin. We will celebrate SBO Day at the conference while providing opportunities for local recognition in communities across the state,” said Ginsburg.

TASBO will launch #BecauseofSBO on social media to encourage schools, districts, and local communities to commemorate the positive impact of school business and operations professionals.
