In a webinar hosted by TASBO on Friday, August 14, learn about the new features and redesign of the BuyBoard website and the marketplace that will allow for a more efficient and streamlined procurement process.

You may not recognize the BuyBoard® online platform soon. Significant upgrades are coming that will bring the ease of online shopping to the process of government procurement while maintaining the compliance focus that districts expect.

The new platform is a welcome change for members of The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Cooperative) and procurement staff who have wanted the ease of online shopping but needed serious attention to compliance, including transparency in the procurement process and the confidence that they can find a competitive price on the platform.

“With the new BuyBoard, we’re bringing the simplicity of online shopping to the world of government procurement and competitively awarded contracts with vendors,” said Brian Bolinger, associate executive director of Business Services at the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), the Cooperative’s administrator. “It’ll be almost like going online to shop for anything else.”

The upgrade may help local governments have another edge in saving taxpayer dollars. District leaders and procurement staff interested in getting a look at the new platform before it launches can visit www.buyboard.com/2020-launch to sign up for an invite to an exclusive preview.

The Cooperative was created specifically to support and serve public school districts, counties, cities, and other local government agencies. The goal is to provide competitive pricing, a transparent procurement process, reduced administrative costs, and superior service.

The Cooperative is a strategic partner of the Texas Association of School Business Officials, and it is endorsed by the Texas Association of School Administrators, Texas Association of School Boards, Texas Municipal League, and Texas Association of Counties.
