Whitley Penn (a TASBO Business Sponsor) is pleased to announce that Celina Cereceres, Partner in Charge of the firm’s Public Sector group, was named to the Houston Business Journal’s 2019 Women Who Mean Business list.

The Houston Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business list includes 30 women who represent a myriad of industries in the Houston area including energy, finance, health care, real estate, professional services, law, hospitality, government, and non-profit.

Cereceres is a certified public accountant (CPA), with more than 18 years of audit experience overseeing audits and other attestation engagements for school districts, universities and colleges, other large governments, and non-profit organizations. As such, Cereceres has extensive knowledge with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) requirements under the Uniform Guidance (2CFR 200) and the State of Texas Uniform Grant Management Standards. In addition to the above, Cereceres is also responsible for training firm staff in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, Governmental Audit Standards (“GAS”), and the Office of Management and Budget (“OMB”) requirement under the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).

Cereceres received the AICPA’s Single Audit Advanced Certificate, and is the designated Audit Quality Partner for the AICPA’s Government Audit Quality Center. Cereceres will be honored at the Women Who Mean Business Awards Gala on October 3 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel and in the Houston Business Journal’s special publication in the October 4 issue.
