Well-run school districts are pivotal in maximizing resources for more than 5.4 million school children in Texas. TASBO recognizes this challenge and offers individual and organizational honors through Commitment to Excellence and Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations. We also provide a scholarship program to retain school business officials in the profession by assisting recipients in their pursuit of advanced degrees.

Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations

The Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations recognizes the achievements of educational organizations in implementing best practices in the area of purchasing. How We Honor Our Members

Our members are the heart and soul of our organization. We are proud of our members and have developed programs to honor their commitment, including:

Commitment to Excellence Award

Each year, TASBO awards its highest individual honor – the Commitment to Excellence Award – to the member who best distinguishes themselves within their profession, their community, and TASBO. We evaluate each nominee’s past accomplishments, volunteerism, leadership and contributions at the district level – including impact on student achievement.

Dr. Ed L. West Scholarship Program

The TASBO Foundation offers a scholarship program to encourage current school business officials to remain in the profession and pursue professional certifications or advanced degree training. We award up to four scholarships annually.
