Meet The 2022 RISE Recipients

RISE 2022

The RISE Award recognizes a person whose early accomplishments, within their career and TASBO, distinguish them as future leaders in the profession.

TASBO awarded seven members with its RISE Award. This award celebrates TASBO members, who distinguished themselves early in their tenure with TASBO. The award program is sponsored by Texas Association of School Boards (TASB).

"The individuals receiving the RISE Award represent some of the most brightest and most dedicated members in our ranks," said 2022-23 TASBO Board President Jennifer Land.

This is the 3rd year of the awards program, eligible to TASBO members with 10 or less years as a member. The goal of this new award is to bring to light those individuals who are on the rise in the school business community. This year’s class includes:

Claudia Alba, RTSBA | Pflugerville ISD
Amanda Boles, RTSBA | Cypress-Fairbanks ISD
Ismael Gonzalez III, Ed.D., RTSBA | Gregory-Portland ISD
Kala Moore, RTSBA | Jacksonville ISD
Kyle Penn, Ed.D., RTSBA | Prosper ISD
Gisselle Rivera-Franco, RTSBA | Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD
Lela Vela, RTSBA | Frenship ISD

“Many of our RISE Award Recipients were participants of the Emerging Leaders Program,” said TASBO Executive Director Tracy Ginsburg. “We are now accepting applications for the 2022 Emerging Leaders cohort."
