TRS ActiveCare: Should You Stay or Go? (Part 2)

Timely decisions. This article (Part 2 of a 2-part series) from TASB Benefits Cooperative details healthcare plan options and resources available to make a decision. TASB’s First Public, a TASBO Strategic Partner, administers the TASB Benefits Cooperative.

Looking at healthcare plan options? Make your TRS-ActiveCare Data request by November 21.

If you haven't done so already, take the first step in comparing your healthcare plan options by making your TRS-ActiveCare claims data request by November 21, 2022.

Gather your data.

Instructions for requesting the data are available on the TRS website. There is no cost associated with the data request, and the information will be provided within 10 business days after receipt of the request. Claim your data here: https://www.trs.texas.gov/Pages/healthcare-district-claims-data.aspx

Requesting data does not mean you’ve opted to leave TRS-ActiveCare. The November 21 date is not state-mandated, rather a date TASB Benefits Cooperative has determined would provide ample time for underwriting and school board engagement with decisions.

Time to analyze.

With your TRS report in hand, you’ll be able to analyze the data and track trends. For districts that do not have the time or expertise to analyze their data, a third-party vendor can provide you with experienced and qualified assistance to ensure you are making the best choice for your employees. Will everyone switch health plans? No, not always. Sometimes the best choice is to stay with TRS-ActiveCare.

Contact TASB Benefits Cooperative for a free analysis, and we can help your district make this important decision.
